Plain language, so you can see what happens to the information you submit before you send it. For the scope of what this platform is and is not, please also read our Legal Disclaimer.
1. Who we are
Property Lawyer Marbella is operated by MM TECH SL, a company registered in Spain with NIF B21696208 ("we", "us", "our"). We act as the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
For any questions about this policy or how your data is handled, you can contact us at info@propertylawyermarbella.es.
2. What information we collect
The Lawyer Finder does not ask for your name, contact details or a description of your matter. Your answers (legal service, area and preferred language) are used only in your browser to filter the directory; they are not stored against you or sent to any law firm.
We collect personal data in the following cases:
- If you contact us directly (for example, by email), the information you provide in that communication
- If you claim a law firm profile or register interest through our For Lawyers pages, the details you submit in those forms
- If you apply for a job with us, the details and CV you submit
- Anonymous usage information, such as which firm profiles are viewed or which contact links are clicked, recorded without names or contact details; and, with your consent, Google Analytics data
Before the Lawyer Finder replaced it, an earlier version of this website offered a request form that collected contact details and a description of the matter. Any records submitted through that form are retained and handled in accordance with this policy.
3. Why we collect it (legal basis)
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent where you give it (for example, for analytics cookies or when you submitted the earlier request form), and otherwise on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating the platform or taking steps you request. You may withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us, though this will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
We use your information to:
- Process profile claims, For Lawyers registrations and job applications
- Understand, in aggregate, how the directory and Lawyer Finder are used
- Respond to you if you contact us directly
- Maintain records required for legal and accounting purposes
4. Who we share your information with
We do not share Lawyer Finder answers or visitor enquiries with law firms. When you contact a firm listed in the directory, you do so directly, and that firm is a separate, independent data controller for any information you give it — this policy does not cover how it handles your data. We recommend reviewing each firm's own privacy practices.
We may also share information with service providers who help us operate the platform (for example, hosting or form-processing providers), acting as data processors under our instructions and bound by data protection obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising or marketing purposes unrelated to the purposes described in this policy.
5. International transfers
Where we use Google Analytics (with your consent), some data may be processed by Google outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States, under safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses. Other than this, your information is processed within the European Economic Area.
6. How long we keep your information
We retain your information for 12 months from your last interaction with us, or for as long as needed to fulfil the purpose it was collected for, after which it is deleted or anonymised — unless a longer period is required by law, for example for accounting records.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Withdraw your consent at any time
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@propertylawyermarbella.es. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD), at www.aepd.es.
8. Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this website. Analytics cookies are only set with your consent, which you can manage through our cookie banner or at Cookie Policy. See our full Cookie Policy for details on the cookies used and how to manage your preferences.
Read the full Cookie Policy.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
Our services are not directed at individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top indicates when it was last revised. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
